Geofencing is the use of GPS or RFID technology to create a
virtual geographic boundary, enabling software to trigger a
response when a mobile device enters or leaves a particular area.
What does this means for you? Simply - we can put a digital
fence around any local business (such as another pharmacy or
doctors office). If a consumer visits one of these locations, they
can be served an ad for up to 30 days after their visit. Additionally,
they can be tracked if they visit YOUR pharmacy, which allows us
to see who converts to customers after viewing your ad.
Why use geofencing? Geofencing increases your pharmacy's
awareness, educates new and current customers on your pharmacy
and new offerings, and encourages purchases within your pharmacy.
What are the benefits of geofencing? Goefencing is a cost effective, digital marketing tool for measuring ROI. You are able serve custom ads to your precise target audience.
Deliver ads to people who meet a specific criteria & are inside of a defined radius or zip code. Specific criteria includes demographics, behaviors, interests & more.
Target users by self-declared symptom or conditions not sourced from medical records.
Use ‘digital breadcrumbs’ to target consumers across their favorite sites as they are surfing the Internet after they’ve searched for a specific product or service.
Show ads to people who have been to your website.
A geo-fence is created around individuals’ address to target users in their homes.
Campaign: Easy Transfers | North Carolina
Goal: Increase store traffic, especially transfer prescriptions.
Solution: Target shoppers visiting competitor locations, such as CVS and other independent pharmacies, and track conversions. When a consumer visits a competitor location, we serve ads to their smartphone to encourage them to visit the client’s location. The ad message is “Easy Transfer”. Once the consumer is served an ad, we track if they visit the client’s location. This allows us to track people who convert to customers after seeing an ad.
Results: Through this strategy, the client received 24 transfer prescriptions, which equated to 82 new prescriptions in just 2 months! He started with a $500 per month budget and is now extending the campaign for 3 months.
